Beauty no machine can match
WH Collier has been making handmade bricks at Marks Tey, Essex for nearly 160 years and plans to continue for as long as the clay reserves last. Whilst the hand-thrown process remains pretty much unchanged, it is vital that products and their presentation are evolved for the modern market.
On the back of a wide-ranging product and location photography commission, we designed and built an all-new website with new branding creating the slogan ‘Beauty no machine can match’ and producing a short video to emphasise heritage character and handmade quality.
Key to the project was good colour and texture representation of the company’s products and a new brand with logo and colour scheme that signals modern relevance whilst retaining the important heritage of the brickmaking tradition and a sense of place and sustainability. See the website
